Correlating agility and innovation with release velocity

When you evaluate infrastructure vendors, do you correlate their agility and innovation with release velocity?

WSO2 uses an iterative development process that rapidly updates products with the latest features, enhancements, and bug fixes. Due to our rapid customer expansion (i.e. 220% year over year new customer growth in 2012), we have seen an unprecedented amount of ESB usage across complicated, enterprise use cases that have battle-hardened our product.   Additionally, client interest in REST, mobile, APIs, high-performance, and elastic scaling have encouraged WSO2 ESB advancements.

For our flagship product, WSO2 ESB, we have updated the product through six releases in the last year (see Table 1.0).  How do your client’s take advantage of rapid product innovation?

While we encourage our clients to upgrade to the latest version and obtain all product fixes and enhancements through a simple, one-step installation process, our production support policy “commit[s] to maintaining each release version for at least 3 years from the initial release of the software”.   The WSO2 team takes the ‘assembly required’ out of open source adoption by updating individual client infrastructure builds.
